Missing Grampa a Year Later

My childhood was amazing; growing up with Grampa was such a privilege. From Rock critters to garbage runs to Reddy fox stories; life was good and always full of excitement. Last year I asked for prayer for him and shortly thereafter, he went home to be with the Lord. The week was full of joy drops amidst the tears and the past year has been filled with healing.

I miss Grampa. Sometimes not as much and other times, the sadness catches me in an unaware moment and it nearly takes my breath away.

Today is the anniversary of his death. I wanted to express my thankfulness for the years I had with Grampa, the things he taught me and more importantly, that he is in heaven. The assurance that a loved one is heaven-bound is an amazing comfort amidst grief.

The way to heaven is a simple one and available to all. It is one of the greatest gifts; both to receive and then to share.  Why not share it with someone today for now is the day of salvation (2 Cor. 6:2).
