Home Again, Home Again Jiggity Jig

Sunday I got home from a 5 day trip to Calgary for an Epicure Conference. We flew WestJet (check out our pilot!), found our faces on wanted posters (way to go Brandi!), got glammed up for Gala (We’re so proud of Carmen!) and had a blast at the hoedown {couldn’t have done it without Ann}. I have some picture issues I need to fix still so please be patient.

Sick Little People

My little ones have been feeling pretty rough. I’m not sure if they caught a sudden cold or {more likely} it is a result of getting their Typhoid and Yellow Fever shots on Monday night in preparation for our trip to Africa. Either way, both have had fevers, no appetite, sniffles, coughs, lethargy and sad little faces. I made Chloe up a bed on the couch (using care bear sheets from my childhood!) because she seems worse than John. We’re starting to see the sunshine through the clouds though. Hopefully it will pass soon. It’s been a long week for them {and me!}.

A Surprise Visit

My pastor popped in for a visit on Tuesday night. That was a nice surprise. We live a good ways from our church and don’t often get visitors. I do hope some day to be able to move closer. Thankfully I had some fresh baked cupcakes (prep for the bunwich order on Wednesday), so I offered them a snack.

{Yes, the poor girl is still in her pj’s with scraggly hair and red eyes. She’s sick!}

A New Bike

Nanny-Granny and Papa bought Chloe a new bike. She had been riding her tricycle but John is after it now and Chloe has long legs. This is her first big girl bike. I bet my parents paid more for the *bling* on the bike than the bike itself. It was a big hit with Chloe. She was more excited about her water bottle than the bike! She also loved the twirly flower streamers. It did get her up off the couch and put a smile on her face for the first time in days! Thanks mom & dad!

Just a reminder that these are finishing up. I will also be redrawing for the Smelly Towel giveaway due to no response from the winner.
