Isaac’s First Birthday

IMG_0340

Sweet Isaac,

What excitement you brought to our lives, right from the very start. Our family is so blessed because you joined it.

What a witness of God’s power your little life was right from the beginning. Now I watch as each day you work so hard to do whatever you set your mind to. You are rolling over both ways very well and able to hold your head up when on your tummy. You also have good head control when being held. You aren’t yet sitting, creeping or crawling but when you see something that interests you, you roll and maneuver over to have a better look. What a funny little sight you are! You are so determined and exhibit such perseverance.

I pray that you will use those qualities in a way that pleases the Lord, in good and right things!

Your little personality is developing more and more. You’ve become a sweet, happy little man. You bring joy to this mama’s heart with your sweet smiles and funny little coos.

I pray that your heart will always be filled with His joy and that you share that joy with others around you!

You’re still nursing but your neck is strong enough now so you are sitting supported in a highchair to eat baby food and snacks. Your favorite? Juicy pear with garden greens (broccoli and spinach). As soon as you see that green pouch, you start to get excited and wave your little hands. This past weekend, just a few days before your birthday, you got a tooth! Soon they will all be popping through and you’ll have to learn to chew with them. But for now, learning to eat and swallow well will suffice.

Yesterday at OT (occupational therapy), they told me that you are now a toddler. No more baby Isaac. I laughed. You’ll always be my baby!

Happy Birthday sweet man. I look forward to seeing how God continues to use your life to bring honor and glory to Him!

  1. Hi there,
I stumbled across your blog while looking for a baby carrier for my daughter, who also has hypotonia. She’s 7 months, and we have a diagnosis although we choose not to live in it. We love Jesus too. And I write on my blog too. 🙂
Anyway, your blog will be followed, because it’s always nice to have mamas in the same boat. Isaac is a sweetheart, and a miracle and a gift. Thanks for sharing.
