Remember our trip up to Buckhorn? Turns out Miss Chloe caught the biggest fish in the “under 12” category. Yay, Chloe! Tonight at church our friend, Mr. Pankhurst, presented Chloe with her trophy. She seemed quiet and I assumed it was because she was tired {and a wee bit grumpy} from a late night and no nap today but apparently she was feeling shy. Once we got in the van all I heard was, “mommy, I”m sure a lucky girl!”, “Mommy, where are we going to put it?”, “I can’t wait to show daddy”…and more!
Someone is pretty proud of the trophy. And rightly so. It’s our first ever trophy in the house!
She gets to keep it for the year and then next year, someone else will have their name engraved on it and we will pass it along. For now, it at our house in a place of prominence where all can marvel at it. John informs me that he’s going to catch the biggest fish next year and Chloe can pass it on to him. Only time will tell. John is counting the days until we get to go back to Buckhorn. Chloe is in no rush; she’s just basking in the golden glow of her giant fish.
