This is my first year ever in attempting to preserve some of summer and fall’s bounty to see us through. I am blessed to live in Southern Ontario where fresh produce and fruit is bountiful. A small drive in any direction leads to vegetable farms and orchards!
I’ve done some dill pickles, peaches, gherkin pickles and some peach chutney (which wasn’t a great success and I have to take it out, modify and re-can it). Next week you can look forward to some pictures and recipes.
In the mean time, I was wondering if of you seasoned canner/preservers have some tips, recipes or thoughts to share? I’d sure love to hear them!!
With that being said, I will be taking a week off. I have many posts, reviews and some giveaways to get up but with such a short time left to get these things done (produce and such is winding down), my priorities are here in my home.
I do have a list of links to some great posts I’ve read…I’ll put those up later today. Lots of great thought-provoking, interesting, encouraging or tasty reads!
Enjoy your week!
I have a recipe for garlic dills and one for hot pepper jelly on my blog.. and can share more via email if you like. Let me know when you're back online..
blessings,
OH, yum!! Those look delish!!
