We homeschool. We use and love Sonlight; we’re doing P3/4 and P4/5 this year. It’s June and we are no where near finished our year yet. Isaac’s initial health issues, plus the resulting doctors appointments that we continually go to, Nana’s health, our house sale then subsequent move…whew! It’s been quite a year.
The beauty of homeschooling is that we are never “behind”. We can move and learn at our own pace. We can finish up our current year through the summer and during the fall if need be. We can start our new year, whenever we’d like, whenever we are ready. I know this and believe this but sometimes, oh, sometimes…
Sometimes I’m overwhelmed with the greatness of the task; educating my children. I think to myself that we’re only in our first official year and have we done enough? Are they learning enough? But we haven’t learned {this} and {this} and {this}….
I snapped this photo from Your Guide to Homeschooling Your Preschooler flyer that I received in the mail from HSLDA. As I read down the list of what a child should know going into grade 1, I know that we’re doing just fine! We’re going to be just fine!
