We enjoyed our long weekend; DH and I had a nap every day. How amazing is that?!?
Monday we went apple picking; only Macs were ready so these are just eating apples {or apple sauce}. Thanksgiving Monday our whole family will go out picking and we’ll get our baking apples then.
I’m thankful for fall; crisp days, beautiful leaves, cozy sweaters, toasty homes, chili, apple-picking…family memories! Memories are something you make whether intentional or unintentional. I want mine to be good, intentional, strengthening.
It’s Tuesday. Today, I am tackling my kitchen. It seems like I do that a lot. Let things slide on the weekend and deal with it Monday (or Tuesday on a long weekend). Maybe next weekend, I’ll do it differently but today, look for me in the sink!
Where can I find you today?

Love it! That photo of your kitchen makes me feel better about mine, though it’s just as messy. After getting cavities filled this morning my kitchen will be getting spruced up too. We were canning over the weekend and put all the dirty dishes in a laundry basket (and in the living room, and on the counters not being used for canning)…groan!
I do that to. But I usually have the dishwasher going more so it isn’t such a big deal.
Visiting from Steady Mom. I was able to get most of my housework for the week done yesterday while big kids and hubby were home, so spending today making playdough, reading books and snuggling babies. Which reminds me to get off the computer and go snuggle!
I am getting things ready for my middle son’s fifth birthday party this weekend. We are having everyone at our house so I’m doing some cleaning today…not that it will last until Friday 😉
Visitng from Steady Mom…I love the collage of photos, it makes me long for cooler days and sweater weather. Today, it was 90 degree F in my neck of the woods! Also today, I tackled my kitchen and cleaned out my refrigerator after being gone all weekend. It was fun, but I am glad it’s done!
Heat + Kitchen doesn’t equal my favorite thing but what a sense of relief and accomplishment when everthing is back as it should be 🙂
Glad the weekend was relaxing!
How’d you do the collage?!?
So glad you asked. I JUST discovered http://www.picnik.com/ this week and this was my first attempt at using it. I think it turned out pretty good huh?
Looks like everyone had fun picking apples! We have a bunch on our apple tree out back – wanna come help pick ’em? 😉 Once you get your kitchen clean, how long does it take before someone makes a mess? In our house, usually about 5 minutes. 😉
WW: Doggy Camp
Yep, 5 minutes sounds about right! LOL. But at least our homes are lived in! (and an apple tree out back?!? Wow!)
That looks like so much fun! We live down south and have never done that! Its still 90 or so degrees here!
I am SO jealous. I miss apple picking with a passion. Here in FL, now I pick oranges and grapefruit but not until mid-November. There’s nothing like picking apples and eating them direct from the tree and transforming them later into luscious pies! YUM!!
Um, I’m a little jealous of you! I’d love to pick oranges. I’ll eat an apple for you and you an orange for me 🙂
Cool pics. I can’t wait to go apple picking! I love making pies out of them.
Thanks for sharing. 🙂
We love apple picking! Eating the apples right away is one of the best parts!
Apple picking is so much fun! Looks like you guys had a great time.
Love the pictures! Did you say NAPS? Wow!
I know!! I’m generally not a nap person since I have trouble laying aside the to-do list and end up taking it to bed in my head but somehow I overcame this weekend. Awesome!
We’ve got to go apple picking this year 🙂 Thanks for reminding me 😉
Our kitchens could be twins! Love the apple picking collage – nice to imagine being somewhere like that while it’s still in the 90’s here.
Found my way here through Steady Mom!
We have three pear trees, which start coming ripe early to mid-August, and they’re still going strong. I greatly reduce the amount of other fruit that I buy during pear season because we eat so many pears. It is a season that I look forward to in July and am tired of by mid-September. Nothing better than fresh pears, home-made pear sauce, pear pie…pear, pear, pear. When they’re done I start indulging in apples, but I don’t think we have any orchards nearby…I’ll have to check into that.
Wow, that is so amazing that you get so many pears. I would love to have some fruit trees; I hold off on planting because I think that our home is temporary but maybe we should think about planting some…even if for the next owners…
