An Acorn Centerpiece

A wise old owl sat in an oak.
The more he saw the less he spoke
The less he spoke the more he heard.
Why can’t we all be like that wise old bird?

We collected the fresh acorns from an oak tree and put them in a glass bowl with a few leaves. A beautiful centerpiece the children declared. They were right. Soon, the bright greenery will be replaced with the beautiful, rich colors of fall. Let’s enjoy these fleeting moments.

We will start school again this week. Maybe Wednesday or maybe Thursday. We’ll see. We’re still finishing up our P3/4 and P4/5 through Sonlight. We won’t start our new school year until October or November. The past year has been a challenging one for our family. But we enjoyed a wonderful summer, filled with camping trips, beach days, and pool days. We’re tired, yet refreshed. We’re ready to settle down, find our routine and enjoy the extra time reading and snuggling that inevitably happens when using Sonlight.

It’s good to be home. It’s good to be back.
